This is Vivi, and this is her story: "I wasn't an athlete until I got into high school. I got into playing lacrosse, and I immediately fell in love with it. That being said, I knew I wasn't in the best shape. I knew that if I wanted to become better I would have to put in hard work. I really started pushing myself during my sophomore year of high school. During that time, I got offered a job at 24 hour fitness. I was immediately immersed into a completely new environment. Everyone around me had so much energy and so much motivation that it further inspired me to work even harder; it was the final "push" I needed to stop messing around and actually live a healthy lifestyle. So, I implemented a strict diet for myself. At first, I tried quitting cold turkey; I eliminated everything that was bad for me all at once. Needless to say, I failed. I've been injured multiple times, and that made me fall off my course, too. But, it wasn't until early this year that I realized that the only competition I’m up against is my own. It doesn't matter how long it takes me and it doesn't matter how many times I fall. What matters is that I pick myself back up again, with a stronger outlook every time. Yes, I've made PHYSICAL changes over the past few years but not as much as I've made MENTAL ones. I've been able to feel more confident in myself, and it has shown with relationships I've built all around me. Although the picture on the right is currently where I am, I will never be a finished product. I live for challenges, and I can't wait to see what other limits I can push my body to. At the end of day, we are always going to be in a long-term relationship with ourselves. We deserve to be a little selfish sometimes, in order to live a positive and happy life." #featurefriday
