This is Sarah, and this is her story: "When I was 18 years old, I fell in love with alcohol. I loved the fact that drinking made me feel fearless, confident, happy. At first, it wasn't anything serious, I was just having fun and being a normal teenager experimenting. Soon enough, I would start drinking until I blacked out. There were more than a few mornings I woke up not knowing where I was, how I got home, or found injuries from the night before. But, I still didn't think I had a problem. Soon thereafter, I started experimenting with drugs. In case you aren’t aware, drugs and alcohol aren’t the best combination… I would wake up the next day feeling absolutely desolate and depressed. THAT is when I finally realized I had a problem. It was time to make some changes. I quit drinking and started taking care of my body by exercising and eating healthy. However, I wasn't seeing any results and began to get discouraged. Everyone kept telling me about Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide, so I looked into it myself. So, I decided to give it a try in 2016, and it was the best decision I have ever made! I've lost 25 pounds since then and have gained confidence and self acceptance, along the way. My body may still be under construction, but I am so proud of how far I've come. I have been sober since October 2015, and I couldn't have done it without fitness.
