This is Alina, and this is her story: "Throughout my whole life, I have struggled with my weight. I was never happy with how I looked. In high school, I tried almost every diet pill on market, as well as those "fit detox teas." During my junior and senior year of high school, I would spend hours everyday doing cardio and limited myself to a very strict diet. Even so, I still wasn't happy with how I looked, and I wondered what I was doing wrong. Slowly, in 2015 i began lifting weights in preparation for my wedding, while maintaining a cleaner diet (but still allowed a cheat day), and I noticed I was finally getting definition in my body! In 2016, I became more serious about meal prepping and weight lifting. I can honestly say nothing beats having a clean healthy diet (with no starvation!) and lifting heavy. I still have days where I'm unhappy with the way I look, but I take a step back and realize how far I've come. I'm constantly striving to be the better version of myself, through healthy and positive measures. This year, my goal is to compete in a bikini competition, and I can't wait to further push myself, both physically and mentally. The end goal doesn't matter; what matters is how you get there." #featurefriday
